Retired Insurance Underwriter - life time wood worker. Recently purchased a used Shopsmith Mk 510 as a retirement present to do various tasks since I don't have the space for a full flung woodshop. So far liking it. Plan to do some turning of bowls plus other wood projects. Most of my work is home repair or remodel. Have a vacation home in the woods and it's always needing something. I've become a pretty fair all around handy man of sorts. Love making furniture however - and now with the Shopsmith plus various other power hand tools and a dedicated Craftsman Table saw - I plan to do much more.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Welcome. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.
