Full length pivoting mirror and jewelry cabinet

This was built as a 25th anniversary gift.

The frame and cabinet are made from maple with some very nice lacey appearance. The back is simply 3/4” Luan plywood. I included many antique brass hooks to be placed where she wanted to accommodate the different jewelry. I am still a novice but glad to report that each project finished better than the last…...so far..

thanks for looking, have a great day

I used the blue anodized t-track, hold downs and hardware from Rockler. Finished off the edges with some leftover scraps of Lyptus.
I should have made one of these years ago!!!!

Legs on a table saw....you should be ashamed

Ok, I bought a contractors saw for woodworking, but it does the job for me. LOL… I started with a Jet 10” 1.5hp table saw. I like the Jet because the motor is in the cabinet not hanging off of the back. Due to my small shop I need to ‘create’ space where ever I can. I removed the legs and set the saw into this cabinet with an extension on the right side to give me space for a pull out shelf to house my mortiser. There is a large cutout under the saw body to allow the motor to tilt when cutting miters. This cutout gave me the perfect spot for dust collection. The back 1/2 of the lower middle compartment is sealed and a 14”x14” dust collection hood is attached to the back wall. I put in some drawers, added a removable extention table to the rear and finished with an HTC (Beismeyer clone) fence system. This cost me a weekend and just short of $700 from start to finish.
I started drawing the cabinet to put under my radial arm and miter saws to utilize a single fixed fence with similar storage underneath. Wish me luck!!

Walnut & Maple cutting board / serving trays

I have found the simple task of building a cutting board to be absolutely addictive. I started with a small bread board just to use up some scraps but I couldn’t stop there. I still mainly use my scraps to put them together, but I am taking a little more time and putting out more intricate designs. One of the pleasures is the response you get from most people when they see them. I hope you like these.

Here is a cutting board from oak, maple, poplar, & lyptus scrap. I have (4) 3/16” holes in the corners of the bottom for soft rubber feet to keep the board in place. It is a simple project, but sometimes it is nice work without all of the planning and man hours. Just a little fun. Thanks for looking. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
