These are some of the carving knifes I make. They are made from old kitchen knifes, jig saw blades, store bought blades, and any thing else I can get to hold an edge. The handles are cherry and I made them to fit my hand so they are comfortable for me to use. Hope you enjoyed

These are some of the crafts that my wife and I make. The recipe card holder was my idea because I mess up our recipe cards all the time when I cook, I guess I’m a messy cook, but my wife say it worth it because I’m also a good cook. I normally just copy the cards befor I cook then toss them in the trash when I’m done, I know not very green, so thats why I made the card holder it was my wifes idea to paint them then we just came with some designs, we are planning to do paper towel holders to match. the lamp was just some scrap and I build it for my daughter, Thanks for looking and I have a peaceful day
Joey @ The Sleepydog Woodshop

I made these remote holder because I was tire of our cat knocking our remotes off the tables at night, they seem to think they are play toys. We tried the cloth kind that hang over the arms of a chair, but my grandsons like to stick their candy in them and then we end up stick gunk all over the the end of the remote which is never good. I made several hoping to sell at the craft show we went to, we had a lot of people look at them but didn’t sell none. They are well made all dadoed and rabbited then glued and pinned, then finished with water base poly. I know its small but my wife loves and the best thing is all the remotes stay where they are suppose too.

I build this because I like making my own tortillas and all I could find around here was press that made 5” tortillas. all of the wood and hinges are scrapes I had from other jobs the hinge pin is just that an old hinge pin from a door hinge I just peened it over. I designed this project a while ago you can read about how I designed it on my blog. I dovetailed the upright to give it more support and had cross pieces to help stabilize the wood for the press. they are glued in the center so everything can expand as it will without damage. I can wait to start making my own tortillas.
Joey

This was a shop cabinet that I keep tools on in my old shop. My daughter ask if I could make here a cabinet for her living room out of it I really wanted to just build something new but for some darn reason she liked this set of shelves. Now it had been banged up, had oil on it, and who know what else in the year or so setting in the shop as you can see

I did little work on it. and l think it came it out pretty nice. I added some nice trim, made a top for it and did some art work of my grandkids on it, then scraped and sanded the whole thing. and used a glaze to help hide some of the scars then gave it a few coats of poly. The hardest part was working on the tiny porch of our apartment. and trying to do the finish work out there with the wind and the rain, well lets just stay mother nature must not want me to of put poly on this thing because every time I did she try to blow every thing she could right over stick to it. I guess she wanted me to use shellac.

This is a coffee cart I build for a lady who was starting a coffee business in the community college I went to. I was working in library and she needed help searching prices on the internet for a coffee cart, all the one that were offered were very expensive, and didn’t fit her needs, so I gave her same names of some cabinetmakers I knew, but they were all to busy or didn’t want to mess with it, but a couple asked why she didn’t get me to do it. at the time all my tools were in storage, and I had no plans on doing woodworking again. I just got though two operations on my back and was convinced in my mind my career as a woodworker was behind me. but she talked me into it so I build this cabinet and a smaller one for her. and my never did go back in storage.

I also did several build in for her and a couple of interior doors that she wanted stain glass installed in.

Vanity

I needed a vanity for the house I rented and since my landlord was cheap I build this out of scrap 2×4 and bead board that was laying around the shop. I was giving solid surface top that was a display, so that is what set the shape of the whole vanity. the bathroom had a T&G ceiling and I used a tile to match the top a long with a dark gray 12×12 floor tile all in all it came out really nice and the only thing I bought was the shellac I used to finsh it with.
