antique refinishing #1: Help with a project?

Recently I came across an antique ladder/ironing board. I know the things that old timers came up with right? Anyway if anyone out there has ever seen one or has a photo they can share I would be grateful. I am attempting to redo it but the one I have no longer has the ironing board attached an I need to know the correct way to attach it. Thanks for you help if you can or thanks just for reading.

well I wanted to be in the wood working field an now that I am I feel like I am at a loss of what to do. You ever get that deer in the headlights feeling? I am there with the car approaching fast. I am working on a set of cabinets but I can’t figure out what to charge for them, and I am at a point where I am not sure how to proceed. I can’t seem top get a tight joint on the rail an stile for the panel door. everything else is text book perfect, so again I come to my wood working Brothers and Sisters to seek help with this problem. I probably should of gone right to Larry Degoose cause we all know he does it perfect every time. LOL Sorry I had to jab him it has been a while, but he is a great wood worker as are the rest of you, that’s why I value your advice. Can’t wait to read what you have, Thanks JoeBazooka

just a bit more info for all who asked

Okay Sorry I was busy when I posted the cutting boards earlier, here is a little more info on them.
the teak and Bamboo is 29×12 1/2 and the oak and ash is 12×18. The finish is a common mineral oil to prevent any food allergies, and the bamboo is recycled flooring. Most of my boards are a standard 3/4 inches in thickness but a few (like the ash/oak) are 1 1/4 inches thick. I have done a couple that are 2” but not a lot of call around here for them at that thickness. I have a few other things I have been doing but nothing is completed yet.

Okay guys an gals out there in the land of the lumberjocks (jockettes), I have a Challenge for you all.
Seems to me that before the holiday everyone built cutting boards of a sort. I too got in on this little joy. Well it’s after the holidays I , as well as alot of you I am sure got a DVD’s or CD’s for a gift. My challenge is simple, let see how many different ways we, as a group, can come up with for storing them. From cabinets, to shelves, box joints to dovetatils, I challenge you all to come up with a different way an inspire the others. Anyone up for the Challenge? So lets say we will see what happens in a month’s time? Until than, keep the sawdust flying.
Rob

Does anyone out there in lumberjocks land have an idea on how to make homemade stencil paints? Since it is for my sister-in-law, I have to put on some lettering. I have gotten the stencils and the brushes but still need to make the paints. It is going in her summer camp so I am thinking of whites and yellows for the letters. Can you help guys an gals? Thank you for what ever you can come up with.
Rob

Fed up with life!

Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how I can change my life? I am so fed up with working for other people who think that by cutting corners they are saving money. I have been doing home renovations to make ends meet, and living basically pay check to pay check. But all I really want to do is build furniture and learn new methods I don’t know. But getting into a shop around here is nearly impossible. So I have been building furniture on my little 6’ by 7’ deck and on my dinning room table when it is to dark outside. This really limits the projects I can do. I am going nuts right now. It is so depressing when I think the holidays are right around the corner. Any ideas?
