Okay guys an gals out there in the land of the lumberjocks (jockettes), I have a Challenge for you all.
Seems to me that before the holiday everyone built cutting boards of a sort. I too got in on this little joy. Well it’s after the holidays I , as well as alot of you I am sure got a DVD’s or CD’s for a gift. My challenge is simple, let see how many different ways we, as a group, can come up with for storing them. From cabinets, to shelves, box joints to dovetatils, I challenge you all to come up with a different way an inspire the others. Anyone up for the Challenge? So lets say we will see what happens in a month’s time? Until than, keep the sawdust flying.

Hmmm… I’m in the process of getting rid of all of my CDs, moving them to a server with a secondary backup hard drive that sits under my desk, and plays through a device called a “Chumby” on my stereo in the living room, with the iPhones as remotes (and if this process is successful we may end up getting a few more Chumbys, although if I’m moving around I usually just put some stuff on the MP3 player and wear the noise isolating earbuds).
I may end up building some more in my musical note themed shelves to support the Chumby separately from the stereo, but once we get rid of the CDs we’ll have so much more space that there’ll be other places to put it.
Which is a shame, ‘cause I’ve got a really nice little red oak CD case that holds about 200 discs in cases that I built twenty years ago that’ll be taken apart for some other use.
