I am a custom furniture builder who grew up playing in the saw dust. My dad started our waterbed furniture business when I was around 6 years old (1980). My first woodworking experience was making swords and guns to play with. I would make mini waterbeds out of scrap and use a zip lock bag for the mattress. I started working with Dad after school and in the summers when I was 15 (1989).
At that time, we were a very small business with maybe one other employee besides my dad and grandfather. I was thrown in, shown a picture, and had to figure out how to build it. This was probably the best thing for me. I learned the most that way. Because I had to learn as I went along, some of my building techniques can be different from other professionals.

I forgot to mention that my Son used to live in N.Little Rock. He’s in Hot Srings now. He’s in the graphics, & auto trim business. It’ called JIM TRIM Inc. He does business all over the state.

There are so many people on here, sometimes it takes quite awhile to catch up with the ones that have been here longer than I have. But, welcome to LJ’s Chris. Good to have another professional woodworker on board.
