I am a retired university professor with 50+ years in woodworking and teaching woodworking skills to future high school wood shop teachers and secondary wood manufacturing students. I specialized in coatings and coatings application techniques. I still work mostly in economic development and assisting secondary wood manufacturers in Alabama. Along with this I write the finishing section for a trade publication while building items for the grandchild.
My career started at Northern Illinois University with Dr. Roger Cliffe as my office mate. Then I moved to Pitttsburg State University in the late 70’s and worked with several colleagues there establishing the National Woodworking Center.
