« Part 1: Introduction and my intent Part 2 of Woodworking Safety series Part 3: Router Safety and Operation - All Parts »

I think I might have this figured out. I do have it posted on you tube. Here is the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eIRyLwpm9U

The overall video is about 38 minutes. The students would take home the dvd, or go to youtube and follow along with a study guide on the tool. It covers everything from safety, to types of routers, to operation and has review questions at the end.

Hope this works.

Remember I am a shop teacher, not an actor. In my opinion it shows as the video goes on, p2, and p3, I get more comfortable in front of the camera. This is my first video ever of this type.

Hi tooldad,
I have a question for you. When uploading; YouTube states that one can only upload a maximum of ten minutes and 1GB. How did you get around this? I too want to upload to YouTube and any help you would give would be appreciated. Thank you.

Mike

I basically did a save as on my dvd file as router P1, router P2, P3 & P4. I then deleted the 30 minutes not in that part. I exported the part using the export for web video button on Nero V8 and it came out to about 9.5MB and about 9:56 min. So next time I will create 3-4 separate segments for the web, then put the segments together for the dvd. That will save me a little time.

I want to know how to embed the code using Dreamweaver software into my personal web site so the kids don’t have to go to you tube. I kind of feel weird about having a video on you tube.

Not to brag, but not too bad for being script writer, teleprompter (I used my lap top on a stand just below the camera as a “teleprompt” note card), and camera operator. I have a student willing to assist in making the rest, so camera work should be a little smoother
