After being a woodcarver first and a woodworker second for 30 year I vowed to improve my woodworking skills at retirement. A neuromuscular disability caused an early retirement for my veterinary career. A very supportive wife and a new house with an attached shop have been a God send. The shop is a second 4 car finished garage with all the required electrical and lighting. The house has a kitchen and other rooms and stuff; at least that is what I am told. Every Saturday 4 of us get together to carve and go out to lunch. During the week when I have the energy I wood work. I got good experience in building cabinets (Euro style), a reception desk and book shelves for my vet clinic. Currently, I am building cabinets for our kitchen. My goal is to build furniture, possibly incorporating carving.

Welcome Tony! You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. I do not know what ‘neuromuscular’ is but it does not sound good. I hope it does not interfer to much with your woodworking. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Have fun and work safe.
