Another Step Closer…
Tonight, I sprayed the final coat of lacquer and painted the groove in the door black.
Tomorrow I will hang the door first thing in the morning. The overnight dry time will allow the finish to cure sufficiently so that it may be handled with a hard finish.
I installed the small door a few days ago and it went smoothly. The small door only weighs 48 lbs. The big one is 108 lbs. and keep in mind it is a hollow core door.

Heck, Todd they didn’t even let you finish it before the started to use it. LOL You are realy brave to hold that can of paint over that beautiful door. Ol’ Murphy would have got me good for that. I have to be very careful because if there is a way to screw it up I will. All in all, this has to rank as one of your all time great projects. It has come to completion as expected and maybe even better. I’m glad you got this opportunity to really show how well you can do it. Thanks for all the photos. I’m sure there is plenty of information I can use in the future.

Thanks guys, I just hope everyone can get something out of sharing the photos.
Sgt Lobo – I leave the camera on the tripod in the shop. The clients wanted to follow the construction and I ended up taking more photos than either party anticipated. But I have to say they love it and I am not sorry for the number of photos taken either.
The shots are real but I have to take them myself. When you start taking a lot of them it just becomes part of the project. You become familiar with the camera settings and the light conditions so it becomes easy.
