I am a Designer/Craftsman and I am self-taught. My business is "Todd A. Clippinger-American Craftsman." I get inspiration from art, architecture, and often, things that many would not find relevant to furniture.

I started out 10 years ago doing handyman work, then grew into a more serious remodeling contractor. Being a contractor has opened many doors of opportunity for me to express my artistic side through custom furnishings.

I am invigorated by being part of a community. I find greater connection to the artists I know than any contractors. I am challenged by the incredible woodworking talent out there. Individuals of the highest caliber become my benchmarks and I am driven to excell in design and technical expertise. I am not trying to become better than them, only to become better for myself.

I thank all that I meet, at any skill level, because I learn something from everyone. I think this is the spirit of an "American Craftsman."

Thanks to the Lumberjocks Welcome Committee. I look forward to being part of the community. I was just checking my emails before heading out to the field to do some install on a kitchen. I have some great things to share when I get a little more time to sit down. I am hitting crunch time on a job.

Todd,
Your are doing what I have thought I would like to do. However, the mechanics of business are a bit of a mystery to me. I am starting to get a lot of request for custom work in my area but never know what to charge.
Great projects, you clearly have a great talent.
