Waymart, PA 18472
United States
We moved to PA in 2006 and love it here. Up in the hills far from the traffic and noise. Well it is still pretty noisy but that is the birds mostly <smile>. I talked my wife into letting me turn our 2 car garage into my shop. Now I have to build a new garage. Here are a few pics. I just started building it last month (June 2007) so I have a long way to go.
The space is 22X21 with 2 5×10 rooms in the back (closets). I am far from done but am enjoying the process and am not in a rush since i have no were to go :) My only complaint is that I have a collum in the middle of my shop. I am thinking about removing it but the cost might stop me. Does anyone have a 21 foot I beam laying around that can hold up a house <laugh>

Nice shop. You can’t go wrong with that Jet setup!

Wow! Nice shop – you are very fortunate to have so much room and such nice equipment. The only trouble with that is that you also have no excuse for doing “ordinary” work ;^D

Fortunate, yes.. very. Life was not always so good to snowdog. When he was younger he was a bad boy and had to live on the street for several months, life was hard. He lost his way but a preacher found him and took him into his family and taught him how to be a better human being. He, after some time and a lot of learning, found that begin responsible and not making bad decissions was a much better way to live. Over time he took many responsible chances with his life (and career), wound up getting a few good jobs. With some luck (“luck favors a prepared mind” Mark Twain) and hard work he now has time to play with wood an a few good tools.

aren’t personal journeys fascinating as they twist and turn .. and always bringing us opportunities and gifts if we are willing to accept them.

Love it Dog! Nice shop. I see you built Norm’s Shop Hutch too. Nice! Hey, if you want a beam go find a burnt mobilehome trailer. There’s two beams there and they’ll work just fine for what you want.

Hi Snowdog,
This is a shop in which I would love to work. It looks like you have plenty of space and a nice set of tools.
Thanks for the post.

Nice, bright shop, Snowdog. I have the same beam problem in my shop. It’s all about tool arrangement.

Welcome. Keep the collum in the middle of the shop. Each time it gets in the way just look at it as a reminder of the ‘old bad boy’ and thank the Lord that is in the past. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Have fun and work safe.
