I have been thinking about buying the Veritas Dovetail Saw Guides. Has anyone used them?

Have you played around cutting them without the guide? A bit of practice, and you may surprise yourself!

It’s my philosophy as a hand tools guy to strive to work without jigs as much as possible. I don’t mean to sound snooty – if you see my work you’ll see that I have no room for snootiness! Just my own personal goal. I see this Veritas thing as a way to get hand tools guys as jazzed about jigs as power tools users are, and to make some money off of that jig craziness.

Thanks for your comments. I do cut them free hand and it is getting better everytime. I just thought that it may speed up the process.
I have to admit that dovetail cutting is the most enjoyable part of woodworking.

I have used them off and on for a few years. They work good and may help develop a routine that will help when going without them.
