A friend and I started a workshop together years ago, it sorta “morphed” into the shop shown in the pictures below. We don’t make a lot of money, but we have a lot of fun! He collects skull, planes and plum-bobs – hence the wild character of the shop.

and a guard dog too!!
by the sound of your description and the photos of the prized possessions in the shop it is clear to see that this is a place of friendship, of laughter, and definitely some creative woodworking.
When I show Rick, I hope he doesn’t put his antler collection in “My” area of the shop!! ;)
I do think they look good here. We will have to find a way to do the same thing in our shop. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice and workable shop. I have to walk around everything in my shop. Does the woodstove warm it ok?

Thanks Karson – Yes the stove will cook ya out of there, the walls and ceiling are well insulated – cool in the summer/warm in the winter, (but then winter here is just cool & WET!)

I see you have quite a collection of plumb bobs and hand planes. I love the name, too.

schroeder – very nice work shop and I had a twinge in my heart when I saw your sawdust buddy. Brought back memories that I hope I never forget.

Hi Schroeder;
I landed on your page when logging in, so I checked out your shop. Very nice. Looks like a great place to play in,
I also like what you did with your bench. Very good use of space!

Awesome place you have there, Schroeder. I’m gonna have to stroll down the road and pop in on you someday soon, maybe leave a drool trail around the dog! :) I’m only about 9 miles away, in Newberg.

I’ve got one of those chocolate “dust collectors” too! Best dog whose ever owned us. Gotta toss him a piece of cutoff to chew on though or he’ll end up stealing part of my current project. They’re sneaky about that.
Your bench gave me some ideas as well. Mines just pine, OSB and plywood to keep the cost down. Someday I’d like to rebuild it out of something far better, like maple and walnut. Someday!

Hi Schroeder,
Sorry about just now getting around to review your shop post but I am glad it came up on my list. I really like your collection of planes and saws. The saws are impressive but I am not sure I would want to use one of them. Your shop does look like an interesting place in which to work.
By the way I love your chocolate shop assistant. I had a model just like that who helped me for 14 years until this past August. It is amazing how attached you get to them.
Thanks for the post.

Nice shop! Your ‘friend,’ that you started your shop with, looks like he is ready to start a new project real soon.
