« Part 3: Getting started with the case Part 4 of RAS Cabinet series Part 5: Torsion Box is started »

Started working on the case this weekend and got it done this evening. Here is the Sketchup drawing of the case:

and here is the final result:

RAS Cabinet 2
and here is the leveling configuration:
RAS Cabinet 3

I need to go back to Sketchup and redo the torsion box as I had to reduce the width of the cabinet by one inch.

This is starting to come together well.

sIke: Looks like the cabinet is coming together nicely. I bought my DeWalt RAS 50 years ago & at the same time bought the American Machine & Foundry book authored by their demonstrator. In the book are plans for a workstation which I built shortly after purchase & the RAS still sits on it & is fitted between two 5ft. work benches. I don’t own a TS & have no desire for one. I rec’d a CMS on a folding mobile stand as a gift on retirement. After discovering that it is no more accurate than my RAS & a darn sight noisier, it has leaned up against the shop wall outta the way for the past 12 years.
