Still building out my tools… I’ll (hopefully?) be moving soon, so I”m limited in the scope of what I can make in the space I have available. I’m hoping my first major project will be building out an actual workshop in a much larger space!

Here’s my place-holder until I get into my new space.

Update: Finally got my new lathe… First thing I needed to do was get it to a lower spot, as the only available workspace I have now is bar-counter height, which puts the lathe way too high to work, so I used up some spare melamine coated pressboard and a 12 foot pressure treated 2×4 I had left over from a deck project. 20 minutes later, and VOILA! Instant table!

Update: Added a small Jet table saw recently. For the price, I guess it’s OK, although I’m not that impressed with it. Basically, it was woefully out of square, the blade was off parallel from the miter gauge, the fence wasn’t even close to square, and adjustments are not as easy as the manual makes them out to be! I’ll put a review up eventually.

Tools:
PSI Turncrafter Pro Lathe
Hitachi 10-Inch Compound Miter Saw
Jet Benchtop 10-Inch Table Saw
Duracraft Benchtop Drill Press (about 30(?) years old, my grandfather’s, then my father’s, now mine!)
Not much in the way of hand tools… I’d like to get more.

I’ve got all this crammed into a 9×10 space, and can’t wait to have some more room.

My apologies about the picture quality… taken with my phone!

Hi Ryno,

I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your new shop space.
