My interest in woodworking started when I decided to make birthday and Christmas presents for my wife. Not knowing any better, I set out to build an Inkle Loom and combination beater/shuttle. It turned out great and I've been enjoying woodworking ever since.

Welcome to LumberJocks. By reading your woodworking blog, I see that you are already familiar with this site – I know you will enjoy your membership here.

Robert, I’m really exited about the Fibonacci gauge. I haven’t seen that before, although I am familiar with the Golden Mean. Thanks for sharing that. It’s now on my project list.

Thanks for the welcome, Don. I’ve been enjoying your posts and (especially) pictures quite a bit. Can’t wait to see the picture of your new Fibonacci gauge. ;)

Welcome to LJ, Robert! You’re doing great job on your blog.. hope to see some of your projects here soon (and maybe you’ll start blogging here as well ;)

Just curious after reading your profile on blogger – what kind of martial arts are you into? I’m thinking about starting with martial arts once my ankle is okay – I injured it badly almost 3 months ago while playing basketball and am doing physiotherapy these days…

Thanks, Martin. I studied Goju Ryu for a number of years (an excellent traditional martial art from Okinawa). Currently I do something a little bit different: medieval European martial arts (sword and shield primarily). Here’s a picture of me in armor about two years ago.
