I had my final electrical inspection on my shop today and passed, just received one suggested change. that was the good news. The bad news is that I will not be able to have the electric hooked up until the end of the month, this really sucks eggs but what can you do. I will start moving my equipment into the shop this weekend and will be going to Knoxville TN. to pick up a band saw and radial arm saw that has been given to me by a family member who bought but never used them. Hope to have some updated shots of the shop posted soon with progress reports on setup and dust collection as it progresses. Pleas wish me luck in the move and pray I don’t pull mine or the wifes hair out in the process. Until my next posting, keep making sawdust because I’m still dreaming of it.

Hi David,
That is a bummer. But just try and be patient for awhile longer. In two weeks the real work of setting up your shop can begin earnest- building cabinets and other shop necessities. I can almost feel your adrenaline rush from here so I know that you are getting anxious. I know I would be if I were in your situation.
Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the shop being set up.

Looking forward to seeing your progress. You will be up and running before you know it. At least you have equipment to move in. Once my shop is ready I need to start buying the equipment. I had a whole cabinet shop but had to sell years back and am now starting over. At least it will be all new equipment when I am done. Good luck!

That is a bummer, but I think I would take the time you have and sharpen all my hand tools, put up some organizers, clean some tools, etc.

well at least you are one step close rthan you were before. I have in the past ran drop cords from my house to run my smalelr equipment . At least then you could be doing something

That’s a good idea…go over to Adrian’s place and make sure he didn’t have a moment of weakness and get a wobble dado blade. And don’t let him mess with any of the electrical circuts at your place….did you see what he did to his car? One would think that a “fireman” would know how not to burn up his own car :-)
(for those who don’t know this already, he’s my “little” brother…and Mom only told him she love him more to get him to stop crying…:-)
Honestly, take him up on his offer. I always enjoy having other woodworkers in the shop. Someone to swap stories with, even one that are true. I understand your eagerness to get things up and running. It is a great time to get things set up and ready. I would also use the time to practice my hand tool skills, learn to cut dovetails and such.

I may take Adrian up on his offer. I will actually start digging my tools out of storage at my mom’s tomorrow. She is even more excited than I am. first of all she gets her storage building back, and second of all between her and my wife’s honey do’s I will be busy for the next ohhh 20 years or so.
