Hi Folks
Remember me?
Apologies for my (rather longer than I imagined!) absence – time certainly does fly.
First of all – I want to say thank you to all the Jocks that have sent me emails worrying about my whereabouts. It warmed my heart!
So where have I been? Working…...........and then a little bit more work :)
I have taken the plunge and gone self-employed! I am now, officially, a chippy. It has been an exciting few months as I have built up my customers. I am reaching the stage where there just isn’t enough days in the week!
So my hobby has taken a hit. Workshop time has fallen drastically, as has my Internet time.
I’ve been keeping myself busy making woodworking planes – if you’ve taken a look at my website you’ll see plenty of evidence ;) I’ll start posting pictures of them here soon.
And as a way of apology I have made a video to start the ball rolling. This one is on adjusting wooden planes. I hope you find it useful
Best regards
Phil

Great video – thanks for posting it…nice to see you lurking around here!

I didn’t realize how small “baby” was until I saw it in your hands…a sweet little block plane.

If your plane is well set-up then it is!
The biggest problems are a wedge that doesn’t fit correctly and hitting the wedge in too hard. It is surprising how little pressure is required to hold it firmly.

I wish I would have seen this video thirty five years ago. Very informative and that plane made some super shavings. Looks like your finger got in the way of a hammer or something. The finger nail looks bruised. I hope it heals soon.

Glad you like my guitar track. I call it “Cowboy Song” :)
Os, I bruised my finger carrying my sliding compound mitre saw. I forgot to lock the slide off and the saw slid back and squashed me!! And yes, I certainly did some serious cursing….....;)
Thanks Bill!
Cheers

Looks like this video is popular. I saw a link to it on the FWW home page.
