Hello All,

Here’s my attempt at entering the Bookcase Challenge. My plans are for a Corner Bookcase Unit, with a Rotating Center Section. It will be constructed in two sections, Top and Bottom. These will be subdivided into three (3) sections, with the two (2) outer areas having Solid Oak framed Glass Doors with a golden color grill work attatched. The Top Middle Area will be the Rotating Lazy Susan Bookcase, it will be primarily of four (4) sections. Two larger areas for the “Display of Books” and two shallower areas for the displayment of smaller items such as Knick-knacks or What-nots. I’ve depicted my drawings as the upper side areas being storage for wine glasses, and the lower side areas as being for wine bottle storage. These areas could also be used for Books. Unit could also be built with a Standard Type of Crown Moulding.

Material: The Bookcase will primarily constructed out of OAK Cabinet grade plywood 3/4 inch. The Door construction is of solid Oak. Shelf trim work will have a Rope Edged Molding. Each Side of the recessed Bookcase areas will be surrounded by Paduak for Contrast.

Size: Overall size of joined sections is approximatley Forty-eight (48) inches wide at the front, and Approximatley Ninety (90) inches Tall.

Stain: I’ve chosen a “Red Chestnut” for the Oak, the Paduak will be natural. Three (3) coats of a Satin Polyureathan as the primary protective coat.

would love to see the plan for the lazy susan and maybe a “cut-out” view of the section it will go in—-cut out meaning the inside view…

Neat drawings John. I will give you 100% for design. Good luck in the competition.
