Hello All,
I've been tinkering with woodworking since high scool. Loved wood shop and just love the fresh smell of sawn wood. Have been creating a lot of my own pieces. Friends tell me that they are quit good. Myself I haven't created the piece yet that I'm head over heels with. So I'll continue to think and create.
I remember when I was about 6 or 7, I was visiting my Uncle Earl and he was making a Violin. I watched him use his planes and scrapers, take a piece of wood from being nothing and creating a beautiful sounding instrument. I believe at that very young age, watching him is what inspired me into loving the beauty of wood. Not just to look at its raw self, but what it may become.
Retired now, and am able to spend a little more time devoted to my woodworking. I could remain permanently employed if I could fulfill all the request's of my children and grandchildren. Five children and eighteen Grandchildren. Keep telling them I'm running out of toe's only room for two more, then I stop counting. Don't think they want to hear that though. House is always Full during the Holidays.
I believe Everyone of Us that enjoy woodworking is inspired by the simple fact of Creating something of Beauty out of almost nothing.
Workers of Wood
John

John,
Glad to have you as a Buddy, I have added you to my buddy list likewise.

Thank you for your comment, the drawing was done on AUTOCAD. And I just got back from the shop and while I was there I took some pics of the Zippies so you will be able to see just what I am talking about.
