I'm 45 years old, blessed to have a very supportive wife and a wonderful son. I began my journey in woodworking by building a treadle lathe. I've had five heart surgeries and diabetes, but it hasn't gotten in the way of my woodworking. I've been woodworking seriously for about six years.

I’ ve only been seriously into woodworking for about 2 years, so I’m still accumulating tools. Getting a lathe and trying my hand at turning is definitely on my to-do list.

I can truly say that you will be missed…many here counted you as a friend. That can be a rare thing these days.

To the Family, I offer my most sincere condolences. By the way he conducted himself and the things he said, I know in my heart that he is a man of Faith and he is now with the Lord. I can only imagine his joy and the relief from the pain of this world. I am sure he is looking forward to the day that we will all be reunited and share in that joy. Please know if you ever have need of help, all you have to do is ask. I am confident that the members of Lumberjocks will flock to provide any assistance they can. We will keep you in our prayers. I pray that God will provide comfort in these times.

God Bless,
Greg

Mark, I have no words for the emptiness I feel from your passing. When I would email you to find out how you were, you would ask if I was alright and how did I feel, I had to pull out of you how it was going with you. And then those 4 days before your wife emailed me, I knew something was wrong, then that terrible, awful, news. Although my selfish heart aches from your passing, I know you are in a better place, probably laughing, smiling at us all and saying, “just wait till you get here”.! I know you suffered here on earth and in spite of being in bad health held a job where you were thought of enough to be a supervisor of others.
May your soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen , I’ll miss you brother..

Mark,

Any attempt to describe how you and your gentle encouraging words simply will be inadequate.

That said, I and many others owe you an unending debt of gratitude.

Your selfless ways, wouldn’t allow us to repay you anyway, because of your state of humility.

My void ,is only nourished by the thought of all the healing you have delivered to countless others.

You would be embarrassed with all this attention, however deserved it is.

I will respect that, and dwell instead in the eternal thoughts of peace that surrounds you .

I miss you and will bid you goodbye for now.

May your family feel your love and warmth, and there loss be healed.

We were quite shocked by Mark’s unexpected death. We are indeed praying for you and your son, that you might be comforted by the Great Comforter. Mark was a special guy to us, and especially took time to pray and worry over my own daughter during her sickness this year. It takes a special kind of man to worry over a small sick girl that he never met.

We received a wonderful Christmas card from him, with a special note to my daughter, that he sent apparently either the day of, or close to the day he died. Thanks for your note about his death, I am honored that you took the time to send us a note to tell us, before we read it somewhere else. His presence on Lumberjocks will be missed, but I realize it that there a huge difference between what we are feeling to what you and your son are feeling right now. I trust that knowing how much friendship and love he gave a bunch of goofy woodworkers on the internet, and one special 6-year old girl in Kansas, will be a good memory for you to keep of him.

Until we meet in the air,

Mrs oscorners,
One of the absolute first welcomes I recieved here at Lumberjocks was from your husband. Your husband was always one of the very first to comment on any project I posted, and always with kindness. Always followed with “Jesus is Lord”!
I’m one who enjoyed and needed all these niceities. I’ll miss him immensely, but I know he’s where he’s much happier than ever before. My prayers are for and with you and your family now. I know that the Lord Thy God can and will comfort you in these most arduous times.
I think that the tributes above all have a way of testifying to what a humongus void your husbands passing has created on this forum. Only people of integrity with selfless goodness are capable of this, and your husband exemplified this countless times. Thank you for allowing us to share in your grief.
May God Bless you and your Family,
