I’ve been using Twitter for a few weeks now, and enjoy it. A few other LumberJocks are also using Twitter, and when I saw that the Prime Minister of LumberJocks is on Twitter, I thought it worth a brief post.
Twitter is a “micro-blog” – you send a short message of 140 characters or fewer. Whoever is “following” you – either through your Twitter feed or through their own Twitter account – will get your little messages. Twitter is good for those events or thoughts throughout the day that might not warrant a full-blown blog post, but are still at least mildly interesting or funny. One thing I especially like about it is that you can send and receive Twitter updates (called “tweets”) via your cellphone.
To sign up, head on over to Twitter. And here is a list of the LumberJocks I know of who are currently using Twitter (in alphabetical order):
Kaleo Kala
Eric Seidlitz
Martin Sojka
Marc Spagnuolo
If you’re signed up with Twitter, simply click the grey “Follow” box under the person’s profile picture. If you don’t want to sign up for Twitter but still want to read their tweets, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the “RSS” box to add it to your feed reader.
If I’ve left anyone out of the list above, let me know and I’ll edit this post. In fact, I’m willing to keep it current if there’s interest to Stickie this entry.
