Someone asked for this. I have some photos of my shop during our North Tahoe Arts “ARTour” last July. This is not what my shop (garage) normally looks like. I cleaned the shop up so the public was safe and clean. I gave bowl turning demonstrations during ARTour. I used my mini lathe so I could have a plexi-glass shield around it for safety. In the winter my shop is shared with my wifes car. Living in Truckee, you learn to put up with the cold. The shop temperature in the winter averages around 50 degrees.
I will bring this shop page up to date at a later time. What you can’t see is that everything is on wheels. That comes in very handy in the winter so I can bring the car in at night. The only thing not on wheels is the workbench. If you look under it though, you will see two tool chests on wheels that work as extra tables. You guys with small shops might think about this one. I got them at Lowes for $99.00 each. I also have my 12 inch planner on one for portability.
Also, if they build an Incra Jig for a tool…I have it. I have turned a thirty year old Craftsman table saw into a very precision tool with rip fence and miter gauge.
There are two Incra Jig equiped router tables. They are also equiped with easy lifts and dust collection.
There are also a radial arm saw, 14 inch Delta lathe, 17 inch band saw, bench mount drill press, a large dust collector, 6×48 belt/disc sander, and a Jet 6 inch jointer…all on wheels.
When you look at this, can you see my favorite street sign?

Are you sure you use that shop? Or is it just for display? It is too neat and tidy for a working shop. Not a speck of sawdust. Looks good, Odie. I’ll bet people enjoy the shows.

Uh huh. OK, we believe you. I shouldn’t talk! I cleaned mine for the photos and got ribbed as well!
Odie! Welcome to LumberJocks! I really like the plexiglass screen you put around the lathe. Great idea. That’s also a very catchy title: Dust N Lint. You guys really have some beautiful projects there. Lookin’ forward to your input to this website.

Dadoo….is that what you really look like? That damn screen was as much $ as my entry fee. But I have it for next year.

That’s a great shop, Odie. Good idea with the plexiglass sheild for the demo.

Hi Odie,
I apologize for taking so long to get around to looking at your shop post. You have a nice shop and it looks like you have plenty of space in which to work. I would assume that the lathe is your favorite tool from the pictures that you posted of it. :) I like the upgrade you did to your table saw as well. I have one like this and am strongly considering adding the Incra fence as well.
Thanks for the post.
