I’m a marketing person with former duties as a professor and administrator in higher education.
My business skills are in developing a corporate image, mass media, advertising, research, and marketing communications.
No silver spoons here. I’m proud that I started from a small town in PA and worked to earn an advanced degree or two. Informal education has been life, travel, a personal wish list, and lot of very cool people. Most people call me Gary. My friends can (and do) call me anything they wish.
Colleagues describe me as personable, quick to adjust, willing to help, able to tell and take a joke. I can speak relatively intelligently on a number of subjects and permit myself some opinions in the correct circumstances and in appropriate company.
I try to give kudos where due. I don’t take well to, and I am personally not a “screamer.” I hold people to their word. I like to work—especially with talented and creative people, but I don’t care a hoot for, and make every effort to avoid, so called “arteeists”, egoism, divas, or prima donnas. Life's too short!
I seek out things that work well, museums, historical places, and a good flea market, and have been known to scrub tires stopping when the latter appears. Tools of all sorts are appreciated. They’re not for display. They are clean, tuned, used, and cared for. I own a bunch.
I truly enjoy a mix of people and cultures but I also reserve the right to prefer the company of my animals to some humans.
