I am an amateur woodworker who's main reward is learning and stretching my design and creativity. Each project is used in my home or given away to family. In the future I plan to donate some fine furniture items for charity auctions.
Generally I alternate between completing a shop project or two and a finished project like the Jewelry Armoire. Between these two types of projects I keep my shop maintained and do some housekeeping and sharpening. I always try to have a project on the bench no matter how small.
I had a terrific shop teacher at Fountain Valley High School (Orange County California: Mr. Elwin Tingy). Great guy. He had a huge reservoir of patience, and was as enthusiastic for his students' projects as he was for his own.
The Unisaw was a surprise Christmas gift from my wife four years ago. She is an artist and did all the research herself and paid for it out of proceeds of art sales. What a woman.

Hi Tim,
Welcome to LJs. I hope that you will find this to be an exciting and rewarding part of your woodworking journey.
-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

Welcome to LumberJocks. This is the best place on the web for wood workers of all skill levels.
Starting to get more Tim’s here than you can shake a round, wooden, slightly tapered, and crooked dowel at.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
