« Part 4: There must be a lot of trouble in using Festool Part 5 of Getting a tablesaw series Part 6: Cutting Unifence and Wixey Digital Read Out »

After long thinking I decided to buy a new table saw instead of looking for how to buy festool options from Japan. And I abandon Festool that is very hard to maintain for Jananese resident.

Last month I found a dealer which can send tablesaw to Japan. That was Woodcraft though they rejected my first offer. I didn’t know why they refused once, anyway I could got Jet JWTS-10 contractor’s saw . That have very smart propotion, its morter is inside of the body ! You know my shop is so small that I didn’t think that I could have a tablesaw but this one must be available enough.

Now I can get the same sized perfect square pieces at a time for my project. Before I couldn’t do it and it took hours to make even unequal unsquare pieces wiht my festool TS55.

Comparing with Before what my shop is is like a heaven so I spend far longer time in my shop.

But another problem has occured.

I bought a UNIFENCE and Wixey Digital read out, and I installed them today, they are much longer than normal fence, for my shop only 4inces are very important. With four inches I can walk through between my tablesaw and workbench but wihtout 4 inces I must crawl on the floor to get some tools.

So now I am thinking about cutting my unifence down to 28inces. —This must be O-key, maybe no problem.
But I am also thinking of cutting Wixey digital read out . —I think this must be OK too. But I am unconfident.

Is there anybody who cut wixey digital read out before ?
If there is, please let me know how to and how was it.

But now I am happier than ever before !!

Congratulations on the new saw. I am excited for you. It is always a good day when we add a new power tool.

How about posting a review of the saw when you have used it some?

As for the wixey digital read out there are installation posts and reviews posted here. Just do a search on it in the top right side of this page.

Send an e-mail to wixey before you cut it. They will tell you if it is a problem.

As far as cutting your Unifence that it no problem at all.

Congratualtions on your new saw!
