Since we need to get ready for the Challenge announcement in the Popular Woodworking newsletter this week it’s time to move to new server. The new server is located in the same Dallas data center as the old one and is maintained by the same company. However it’s much faster (running on new Core 2 Duo processor), has more memory etc. I believe that exciting time is ahead of us here on LumberJocks so we need to get ready for the growing popularity.
The former upgrades were just that – the upgrades. However this change requires complete move to new hardware. We’re going to initiate the move at 1am EDT on Sunday (tomorrow). The move should not last more than 2 hours. We’ve already adjusted some options so all of your internet providers should find the site on our new server almost immediately after the move. But if this doesn’t happen in your case just be patient till your internet provider finds its way to our new server. It should not take more than few hours in this worse scenario.
Hope you understand this necessary change. It would not be reaquired without all your activity ;)

You’re right though… once the contest hits the magazine there’ll be even more eyeballs here!... just need to keep the friendly, small town vibe we’ve got going on no matter how big and busy this site gets. ;)
