Yes, yes, today is my birthday… thanks for the post Debbie. And here’s my birthday gift to LumberJocks ;)
You know how easily you can share the youtube videos or photobucket pictures. You just copy the embed code and paste it to your posts on the Web. Now we have the same comfort here on LumberJocks – let me introduce the one and only LumberJocks Embeddable Project Cards!
Each project page now features the Embed This Project box at the sidebar:

As you can see it contains following three codes:
- LumberJocks code that you can easily use on this site
- HTML code that you can use to display the project cards on your own website or blog
- URL/IMG code in the BBCode format – it’s one of the most used formatting codes on the Forums across the Web.
Just copy and paste the proper code to enjoy nice project card linked to the corresponding project post:
Don’t just link to the LJ projects anymore – do it with style.
Each project card is worth 1000 words ;)

Happy Birthday Martin!!!! The new project card looks awesome…and the sample box aint bad either…
I went onto my LJ homepage and looked at my projects to see that I now have the code in each of my projects…one question (from a dumb guy)—-what do i do with it now??? I thought—-this would be cool to e-mail a card like this to all my non-LJ family when I post a project…
I tried to use my yahoo account—-and when I used the HTML code in a test e-mail and sent it to myself it worked—-but did not show the card in the e-mail without clcking on the link…
I have no idea if this is possible…but I was thinking this could be a really cool way to promote LJ’s…for guys that are pro’s they could send out a “card” via e-mail to customers and prospective customers…then the customer clicks on the person’s work…
In my case…it would be really neat to send out a project card to family members…who can then link to the page and see my other work…
Another innovation Martin!! Hope your candles on your cake burn bright—-although not as bright as Karson’s cake…and the frosting melt in your mouth…
Peace…matt

That is a cool thing to do Martin, and on your Birthday too… Congratulations.
I have try it out too, and it works great. I used the HTML tag to post a project card to my own personal web site…... No problems at all. Check it out...

Thanks for the Early Kudos… now if I could only get it to work on my wordpress site! It should work, but I can’t figure out how to do it there. Perfect on LJ’s though.

I hope that 10 days is not THAT late to say Happy Birthday. Anyway I will assume it is not and Happy Belated Birthday to you. I think this webbed thing is awesome. What I am wondering however, say I find something of someone else’s that I really like and I want to put it in/on my personal woodworking blog at blogger. Is the permission from the artist assumed? This would be a great way for me to place some other peoples work on my blog and then get them to stop by here at L’J’s. I already have your widgets and I guess the projects are on there as well, just not so close up and personal. I love this idea!

Ok, Ok, ok. I’ll speak up for us hicks. I don’t have a clue what you are talking about Martin. Can you explain further what these widgets are, what they are used for, and the benefits? I’m sure I’ll like it, but I don’t do videos since I’m old fashion dial-up, and I have to climb the pole outside the kitchen window to dial. So, I don’t know what you are referring to, or about.
Thanks from hicksville,
M
