First of all I want to thank all of my fellow wookworkers whether you voted for my projects or not.
Just the comoraderie and enjoyment of these past few weeks makes all of us winners.

I was truly ready to concede and resign myself to Ryan Shervill winning the award. His fantastic table
is a clear winner, and his beautiful box is fantastic also. And Stewart’s amazing chair. And all the other great
entries.

I guess it’s true that you are your own worst critic. I guess my box was better than I thought at least
as judged by my peers. That’s the part that will stick with me long after this is over.

I also want to thank Martin for this website and all the work he has done putting this together.

The month of January has just flown by this year due to all the activity both in my workshop and via the PC, on Lumberjocks. I have said it elsewhere on this website, (the word website doesn’t do it justice does it?) but I’ll say it again; thanks to Martin, to all competitors, voters, and all who have taken an interest in this fantastic event. Thanks to all for your comments and amazing humour that has been a great feature of the competition.

It’s really special to be ‘in the company’ of the work of Gary, Ryan and others. I am greatly honoured by my third placing and second placing of my chair.

A very special thank-you to Andy who introduced me to Lumberjocks some 140 days ago. Congratulations to you, too Andy, for Rachel’s lovely box.

Congratulations, Gary, Ryan and Stewart! You guys were really the class of the field. A great podium finish for all. I’ve never voted for anyone that won, and it’s nice to see that my top three were in the top three. My order was shuffled a bit, but looking at the fantastic work done by everyone, your stuff really did stand out!

Cheers!

Congrats to Gary, Ryan and Stewart! Beautiful work from all the contestants, not just the ones named on this page! I honestly didn’t see a single piece I didn’t think was great work!

And Stewart? I agree that the word “website” just doesn’t cut it. I think of this more as a community, so that’s what I call it :)

I have just contacted all of the prize winners. What an event… really unmatched one in the online ww world, what do you think? All LumberJocks raised the bar again before the next Summer Awards ;)

Now we just need to spread the word about the results and all entries. There’s lots of inspiration and creative ideas for all woodworkers.
