Completion of this neat little feature took me longer than expected. I wanted to raise my bar as always and spent most of the time thinking and rethinking again. I’ve finally started to work on the plan this week and am proud to announce the addition of Favorites to LumberJocks today.
As you may expect you can add any type of post – project, blog entry, forum topic or workshop – to your favorites list. You can find shining
button on each post page. Click on it and short form with the Notes textbox will appear. Adding notes to each of your favorite items is very important for your future reference. Once you are done with entering your notes just submit the form and the post will be instantly added to your faves.
is replaced with the
button on the posts that are already in your favorites. Click on this button to edit the notes text or to remove the post from your favorites.
By clicking on the favorites counter located under the title (xxx times favorited) you can even see the list of your fellow LumberJocks that count the respective post a favorite. In a similar way you can also view the favorites of all LumberJocks from their profile pages. And a handy link to your favorites is included in the header's "My" links.
Once you add first few posts to your favorites you can also start enjoying the addition of the "only favorites" checkbox in the Pulse filter. It's great to check for the new activity in your favorites from time to time.
That's it... go ahead and start building your favorites list now ;)
P.S. Debbie and Wayne has suggested to link the "never checked" phrase to the respective post on the Pulse page. This is done as well. Thanks!

This new feature is working out great. Especially when my wife sees something see likes over my shoulder, I can now “bookmark” it with some notes.
As a further feature, could there be a way to breakdown items under “My Favorites” by subfolders?
Also wanted to say that this site is a great way to share with everyone that has a common ground, thanks for the new realm.

To build on Rick’s idea, perhaps even a category tag that works like the blog series identifier. Select and existing category or add a new one. In the favorites view be able to filter by category. Example categories I would use include: “Come back Later”, “Project to do List”, “Jigs”, etc.)
