need router

I like my Triton.
I have a Hitachi 12MV but you have to cut the wings off it to use P/Raising bits.
Gord Graff has a “how to” on here if you go that way.

Woodcraft just sent me an email to say that they have gotten a special deal 3 1/4 hp Freud Plunge routers and are selling them for $129 with free shipping. If hadn’t already bought one, not half that good for almost the same money, I would without a doubt buy that one.

The Freud sounds like a good deal. I’ve got a good old Makita 3 1/4 that I’ve had for 17 years. Works just as good as it did the day I got it. I’ve got several, Bosch, Milwaukie, Bosch Colt and a 1/4” Craftsman and a Dremel with a router base. They all work well for their intended use.

I had to take the handles off to get it in my router table. This thing is a monster – very tough.

Really been looking at that Triton… And you only need one router? They are like potato chips.

Some questions to consider.

Are you going to mount the router in a lift or directly to an insert or the table?

Are you going to do a lot of panel raising or an occasional project?

What is your approximate budget?

I got a PC 7518 for my lift, but there’s a crazy deal right now on that Freud 3.5HP that people are mentioning…

i thank everyone for your responses. think ill hit woodcraft and check on the frued sounds pretty cheap, however i also will check out the milwaukee it might be the one . ive checked th p c 3.5 its about 369.00
i have a budget on things like entertainment and groceries but no budget on tools !! ( im single ) . i knew someone was going to ask how i get away with it ! however its not something ill use a lot but it will likly get set up for panel raiseing and stay set up . so cost is an issue. i have maybe about 12 routers 4 or 5 set up for a particular operation and stay set up
