I grew up in Arkansas, I have lived in NWA for over 20 years. I took a wood working class in high school, then faded away from it. After I was married for 3 years we bought our 1st home, it was new so it didn't need any work, but after a couple of years I got board with putting models together and bought a few tools and started tinkering. The 2nd christmas in the house my wife bought me a small table saw and I build a work table, it is the one I have in my shop now. I then added a laundry room in the garage, that is what got me hooked on working with wood. I didn't have much room so I didn't do much at the other house. We moved into this house 3 years ago and I meet a guy at church that was really into wood working and that got me hooked on making usefull things out of wood. I made my first project (the paper towel holder) and when I gave them as gifts for christmas and everyone loved them I decided to build a workshop in the basement. Now I have a stock pile of lumber and the shop is just about ready and the fun is going to start.

I started cutting down the rough cut lumber that I have. I joined and planned some of it too. For now I am using a 4” aluminum dryer hose to connect the dust collector to the cyclone lid, it works great I might just keep it like that. The...
