Mot's Shop Tour Entry

Nothing like doing a podcast to find those tools you’ve been looking for. LOL. You have some very nice tools and a nice setup. What is it about the tunnels? Are you and MsDebbie crossing the border to get to you’ll shops? LOL. I like how you mention whether you felt certain purchases were good or not so good. Nice workbench, you didn’t seem to feel the need to talk about it, why? Nice bowl. Nice Festool collection. It’s great how you exlpain those purchases. You’ve got a lot of vaccuums to empty! I really enjoyed the tour, thanks.

Hi. About the bench, I was about to talk about it when I saw that ring of spilled pop and I got side tracked. When I read about this on thewoodwhisperer, I just grabbed my camera and headed down to the shop and just started talking. After watching it once through, I could have taken a little less time with some things and spoke about others a little more. I have to tell you, it was fun to do. I think that podcasting might be a fun way of adding another element to woodworking. Thanks for looking!

Alright, alright…the bench. I guess I still didn’t say anything about it. My bench is a Veritas bench with hardwood base, tail and front vise standard. Lee Valley Veritas Benches.

Nice…. I too appreciate the commentary about which tools were good purchases, and which new ones have trumped old ones… Too bad about customs.

I can, but I’m not sure it will help. You see, I have no talent at lying to women. You’re wife will say, “How much do they cost?” I’ll tell her. She’ll ask, “Is that all he’ll need to buy?” I’ll say, “no.” Then I’ve not helped you one bit.

I feel I need to comment on the Somona clamps. I said they were junk. The reason is this. They don’t slide easy, they don’t clamp square, the bar bends with average clamping pressure, you can break the top clamping piece with clamping pressure, they are hard to release when moderate pressure is applied, and they break if you drop them. Otherwise, they look pretty impressive on the wall. (Sorry, I just had to say something nice.)
