Basement shop – my 3rd shop location in 5 years, we have moved alot in recent years

it is still evolving and getting the space and work flow figured out…

first job was to put up that wall and door to divide if from the rest of the unfinished basement.

next was wiring because it was tough to run this stuff on 2 outlets and 1 lightbulb – i have never drilled so many hole over my head in all my life – ( the box was at the OTHER end of the basement)

next was the “miter station”....

now looking into cyclone dust collection….so I can breath down there…and gotta get an outfeed on that tablesaw

That’s a worthy shop. I like the layout!

Great shop (flickr pix) nice workshop cabinets. When my miter saw station grows up it wants to look like yours! Can you post a bigger picture / close-up of the bench drill press stand?

Nice shop. I guess the plus of a basement shop is the airconditioning! Great looking setup and the projects were nice, too.

How is the Jet Jointer working out on rollers? I wanted to try putting a few of my tools on movable stands but have not tried it yet. I like the way your shop has grown from the first pic I saw.

My chopsaw stand is a rolling printer table my wife would not throw out :) , it is not great but it works for now. Yours is great I’ll have to work on someday.

@snowdog – the jointer works fine on the rollers. Think the base is a HTC universal/adjustable mobile base – I had to stick a small board in the base to tighten the fit. but it works well, when I have the wheels locked.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the pictures. You have a nice shop. It is well organized and you have a nice set of tools with which to play. I would enjoy working in there.

Thanks for the post.
