Ok “my workshop” is actually a one car garage attached to my house. What started out as a place to store the few tools I had has actually morphed into something completely different. The day I laid the floor it ceased being a garage, so I guess it is a shop. And like any shop it is used as a place to store tools, make things, and most importantly escape the house once in a while. It is slowly becoming my sanctuary. It is a very comforting place to go(despite the lack of heat). I use it as my clubhouse and my retreat. I use old planes, levels and clamps or whatever I can get my hands on at the flea markets to give it a feel all its own. Call it aesthetics or a waste of time and resources. My wife will agree with the latter part of that sentence. I call it a place to call my own. I try to keep it very well maintained and clean. I don’t own a dust collection system yet, so I spend a lot of time sweeping. And because I live in the northeast, I find myself waxing the surfaces of my power tools quite often. Its pretty well equipped for what I enjoy doing. I’ve been pondering buying a jointer and planer, but since I find myself drawn to hand tools I probably won’t. I think they will fit though, the layout is pretty well thought out. I do have one more major project to get started on. Electricity. The lighting is poor and there are not enough outlets. This will be remedied shortly, I’ll keep everyone posted. Also you notice the base to my as yet unfinshed bench I will be posting the pics when I finish(hopefully before April). I don’t know if there is much more to add, as always I appreciate feedback and ideas. And I will update as needed. Thanks

PS I wish I cleaned up before I took these Pics.

This is a really nice workshop. I could work there. I love your handtool collection.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice shop! Welcome to lumberjocks!
How do you like that Delta Contractor saw? I was thinking about going with that before I got my hybrid.
Oh, and I envy your handplane collection.

I know about the one car garage shop, had one. Enough about me, your shop is great and a good place to get away. I noticed a project on the floor, could that be the beginning of a cool work bench? Keep in touch.

You can make great stuff in a one car garage. Had one for a long while. Yours is well laid out.

Got your message and yes that is one cool workbench, I like the contrast in the light and dark woods. A lot of good stuff can come out of the one car garage.
