I decided to get back into woodworking about 3 years ago after a 10 year absence. We decided to allocate a corner of our unfinished basement to the shop and while small by some standards it seems to fit my needs for now.
The centerpiece of the shop is the Jet Table Saw. When I decided to return to woodworking I committed to getting the best I could afford when I made a major investment in a shop tool. like most woodworkers I know I tend to aquire new tools as the project I’m currently working on requires, but for major tools I usually make 1 major purchase per year. I still have a bandsaw, a midi-lathe and perhaps a joiner on my wish list.
The first picture shows the North wall of the shop with shelf storage and a roll around cabinet I made with 3/4” Melamine and usually hold my benchtop drill press. The drill press is a 12” Fisch – after reading a number of reviews I decided on the Fisch because of it’s full metal construction.
The 3rd picture shows my Delta P-20 scrollsaw and Delta 13.5” planer. Both were Christmas presents from my wife – whose motto is keep the woodworker happy and you get first priority on project requests.
The 4th picture shows my router table. I assembled the table from a collection of parts after trying several tables that didn’t seem to fit my needs. The top is a Jessem as is the fence and mitre guage. The router is a Porter-Cable 690 and is dedicated to the table.
The 5th image is my in shop wood rack – I just can’t turn down a pretty board.
Last image is a closeup of the Melamine cabinet and the Fisch drill press.

Mike; I noticed that you are the closest LumberJock to me in Delaware. I’m about 1/2 mile off Hwy 404. The Seashore Hwy from Baltimore/Washington. I’m about 55 miles from the Bay Bridge. Thanks all for the comments. I need to post new pictures. I spent most of January and February reorganizing the shop with the addition of a Rikon Midi Lathe – Christmas present from the LOML. Also I decided that even with a small shop I had to do something about dust control. So I spent the money I had save for a band saw for a Jet dust collector with a canister filter and then installed rigid aluminum duct work with enouth drops for all the machines in the shop – Wow what a difference in dust control.
For JP - I love the Jet saw – I have the original fence and have no complaints. I have the model with the sliding mitre table on the left side of the saw. I have not been comfortable working the mitre gauge from that side so I did add a Incra Model 1000 as my primary mitre gauge – do 85 – 90% of my work from the right side. However, every once in a while that left side mitre and sliding table come in handy.
