Well here is where it all began!! I had 3 guitars at that time. My 2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard, my 2003 Jackson SL1, and my Fender Strat. I wanted to start woodworking, but I was in a financial deficit part of my life. I couldn’t sell my Jackson, plays too well. And the thought of ever being without my Gibson Les Paul Standard has never crossed my mind. That left the Fender. I loved it, and it played exceptionally well…..like butter. The problem with it is that it wouldn’t stay in tune. It had a tremelo, and everytime you would use it, the guitar would go out of tune. Didn’t have that problem with my Jackson. That is one solid instrument. So off I went to Guitar Center with my Strat in hand. I had found my Delta Contractor saw on Amazon for $400.00. When they offered my $650.00, I took it!
The first pic is of my Delta tablesaw/Rockler router table extension, and a Rockler/JessEm Router Lift FX. The only thing else I’ve done to my tablesaw is to add cast iron table wings, for a completely flat, stable table top. Next pic is my pair of 14” bandsaws. Next is my Delta 13” planer. Next is my awesome 8” Grizzly Jointer with carbide inserted spiral cutterhead. In the background is my awesome Leigh D4R jig. Next is my Jet oscillating spindle sander, and finally my new Jet 16-32 drum sander.

nice setup!
I’ve been eyeing a Jet bandsaw for a while now, just don’t have the cash… any regrets on yours? I’ve been thinking that perhaps I should get the 16” when I get one.
seems we have the same background in woodworking. I never had anymore than what was offered in jr & high school.

Thanks Gary, and Darryl!! I have no regrets about any tool that works great. I bought my Jet new at Rockler when it was on sale, and promotion. I also received a Rockler gift card when I bought it, and a small Wilton vise. The Grizzly is another story. I was looking for another bandsaw to cut contours, since before then I was changing the blade. I saw an ad on Craigslist for a bandsaw, and went out to see it. The guy had bought it brand new, used it for 6 months, and then suddenly died. It was still in warranty, and I got it for $300.00. It ended up being Grizzly’s Ultimate 14” bandsaw!! I think it is a better bandsaw than the Jet. It came with ball bearing guides stock, and when I first used it I realized I needed ball bearing guides on the Jet. It definetly has more power than the Jet. Both are made in Taiwan.

Hi Matt,
You have a nice shop and it appears to be well organized. I really like your table saw set-up.
Thanks for the tour. I enjoyed visiting.
