Welcome to LJs. I am sure you are going to find this to be an interesting experience in your woodworking journey.

Does your avatar have any special significance?

-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

Thanks for the welcomes!

The avatar pic is of a door & entry way that we built last spring. Roughly 1000 man hours, 10/4 western red, all hand cut M&Ts, the whole thing is held together with two dovetails. The only mechanical fasteners are the screws in the hinges.

It became a part of me, so I figured it was suited to the task. My wife still calls it ”The other woman”
