Brand new at this...loved Woodshop in middle school. My 4 year old eats dinner on a little bench I made from the 8th grade. Now I am 37 and suddenly wanting to learn again. Have made a couple projects including a wood box with a cool wood carrying top to bring wood inside...a couple saw horses, a guitar stand and newest is a fence-gate that fit perfectly the first time yesterday.

I bought a Shopsmith 5 and 1 woodworking tool last May with the advice and help of many LJ's and now 6 months later--still super pleased...

Woodworking goal: learn and have fun...grow as woodworker...work through and problem solve...

Will try to take some woodworking classes in the next year...but time is always the dilemna!

Nice to have another 30 something,... even if you’re from the other side of the states – Perfect place to be though!

Hi Matt, Been a few days since I could wrestle the computer away from the boy. Been in Chico since 1982 and somehow never left. Must be the smell of hops or something. Now my wheels are ticking about a way to encorporate the nectar into a wood working project. Hmmmmmmmmmmm . . .

Yum
