I was going to say all you got was a vacuum hose?...:) I must be getting good at this. We went to the big box Sunday for some stain and I managed to walk out with a new Hitachi scroll saw!

One thing I’ve done to reduce the need to chase fasteners is to have a good supply on hand. If I use up all my 2” screws the next time I’m there I pick up a reload.

I’ve often come home with just about what I wanted. It happens. After awhile you’ll get an accumulation of assorted hardware and the frequency of such a dilemma, though still occasionally happens, is certainly reduced.

Good job Bro….you know this time, you’re going to have to pay for dinner. BTW….start keeping your coffee cans from home and the station. I order my screws in bulk (at least a 1000 at a time) and keeping them in the cans is a good way to start. Be sure and add some shelves on the other side of the garage to keep your fasteners and glues, keeps them handy. Take care.

I know it’s not the same as the borg or lowes but I prefer McFeely’s for the (Canadian invented) square drive screws.

I don’t take my wife shopping for shop stuff. She gets distracted with the shades, and lamps, and rugs, etc and it just costs a fortune to get a few screws.

now that is funny…. after a zillion conversations about a woodworking going to the store to buy nails and proudly comes home with a big tool or two—Xavier can’t take his wife because it costs too much when she buys a little extra!! lol

That’s one thing I hate, is running out of screws. Our local fleet supply store runs a special on screws once and awhile, so I load up with about a pound of each size.
