Just so everyone is clear….yes this is my brother. He is a little strange, but that comes from inhaling all that toxic smoke putting out fires in TN. I apologize up front, he tends to get carried away at times, as shown in his photo but at heart is a great guy. I am tring to get some of that latent sawdust pumping through his veins to become more active. He is getting there, this sort of thing just takes time I suppose.

Thank you for all your warm welcomes. Yes, I sometimes claim Greg as my brother and Yes Mom has always liked me best. While Greg had the chance do learn from our grandfather, I had the pleasure of learning from our dad. I do have the woodworking bug, BUT am a lil more broke than my brother and have learned to do projects on a very tight budget…..like digging thru construction debris piles for semi-usable lumber to do garage and outdoor projects with. While I am not near up to my brothers levels I am trying hard to learn and can’t wait to get more active.

Welcome. Some of my favorite projects start from used, recycled or salvaged wood at no cost. I’ll have to post some and let you know. So I’m sure we will all be looking for a project or two from you. The lazy fireman can post them when he’s board and the weekend warrior can build them…

Hey, a TN fireman. I met a heck of nice fellow that was the asst. Chief in Collierville and went on to be Chief in Memphis. Pretty good dudes fighting fires in TN. Welcome to LJ!
