This is the beginning thanks to Tom Mot’s help.
I started woodworking shortly after Xmas 06. This is my garage shop that consists of a JessEm router table with a Porter Cable router, a Jet dust collector, a Makita planner, a Steel City cabinet saw and their 6” jointer with an extended bed. Oh! And, a friend of my wife’s was kind enough to give her a used 16” Craftsman direct drive scroll saw. It has no model number and their was no manual. So, if anyone can help us figure out what blades can be used with it and how to install them that would be great.
The shop is a bit cramped, but adequate. I have to move machines around and switch dust collector hoses around, but I’m happily working on my first project – two sets of raised panel bi-fold doors.

Bob if the shop is cramped maybe you need to get rid of your plush relaxation furniture and get hard chairs like the rest of us.
That couch is a little overkill.

Hey Karson,
Talk to my son, he wants me to keep it for when he moves out. What is a Dad to do?

Wow, very nice set up. All new Steel City and Makita tools. How do you like the two stage dust collector? Looks like the shop will get many years of use. It feels like a real shop with the walls of OSB. I like the couch for the occassional nap at the end of the day but with the leaf blower idea to clean out the shop, it will get covered with dust quickly. At minimium, put a drop cloth or tarp on it.
Good luck with the doors, can’t wait to see them.

Great shop, Bob! It was nice talking to you on the phone. Glad you got things hooked up!

Nice shop and a very fancy planer table/cabinet you’ve got there. Great looking router table setup, too.

Karson, I’ll bet the couch is good for a nap while projects are under clamps for glue-up. I have a similar Craftsman, I’ll see if I can dig out the manual. I think it will take both pinned and un-pinned scroll saw blades.

Hi Bob,
Sorry about just now getting around to reviewing your shop post but I am glad it came up on my list. You have a nice shop. I would like working in there. It is well organized and you have a really nice tool collection. I see you are a Steel City fan. They do make a good line of tools. Your planer stand is unique. I like that. And you have a built in lounge area as well that I am sure would serve as a bed. All you need is a refrigerator and microwave and you would never need to leave the shop. :)
thanks for sharing.

Nice shop. What’s the story on the planer stand. Look’s to good for a planer stand. Your wife don’t want it?
