Started in woodworking about 2 years ago..wood has always been my passion..in my previous life was a special education teacher; a country inn owner; owned my own antique restoration business so finishing was my specialty...had to teach my self to be patient as a woodworker to get to my "real" passion of finishing the project... two years ago I bought a used shopsmith along with many boxes of "stuff"..which included a ring master, which fits on the shop smith and cuts rings at various angles....all of my projects, most of which are vessels and vases are of my own design (using that geometry that we all hated in high school) glued together and shaped by sanding...since each ring is cut from one board you can design some interesting grain patterns as you build each piece...it can be rather addictive to say the least...my pieces generally are out of ambrosia maple, paduak, heart wood of ash, heartwood of hickory and canary wood....glad to be on board with lumber jocks..

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
