Help with a Planer

Hi All
My first post and I need help. I’m new to woodworking and have been getting tools this summer so I can play this winter. I have two planers one is a Delta model TP300 the other is a Dewalt model DW733. My question is which one to keep. Is one better than the other? Thanks for your help.

The DeWalt hands down in my humble opinion.

I just checked google, and the Dewalt has a cutter head lock, I know from my search earlier on that the TP300 does not. That is why I opted for the Delta 22-580 with the cutterhead lock. You know I’ve found if you joint the face of the board first also, then run it through the planer against that jointed face, you can virtually eliminate snipe. Just FYI. Keep the Dewalt.

I would have to say the Dewalt. I have the Ridgid. But I did look at the Dewalt and it is a very good tool.

I have 10 years and many miles on my DeWalt. It just won’t quit, is very accurrate, and I am still very happy with the finish.

I bought a Dewalt used about a year ago… and am very happy with it. No snipe (unless I forget to lock it down) and the feed/output tables are easy to set at the correct height. I like the handles for when I move it and the cord storage makes it easy to keep it organized.

Thank you all
I will keep the Dewalt. I have so much to learn but you are a great help.

Thanks. Art
