Yes, I’m the “new guy”. I’ve been looking over the site for about a week now and decided to join in. I really like the way everyone is so positive and helpful….. No trash talking. Now I just need to get used to the site and try to figure some things out. Thanks for the welcome Les.

I actually learn alot from my dad. But he doesn’t really know about fine woodworking. He is more the do it yourself kind of person. He dosen’t make things for fun, he fixes things if he has to. He taught me about a few things, but most of my knowlage has come from WOOD magazine, New Yankee Workshop, and Woodworks. They all have something to learn from. It seems like sometimes I have to teach my dad about things. We are both makeing a Jewlery box and I had to explain to him about rabits. LOL.

Trust me Tyler, what you are learning about woodworking now (for fun) will come in mighty handy when you’re grown and have a house of your own to keep up. You will be using these skills the rest of your life. It’s good to see you getting in here and mixing it up with us “old timers”. Keep up the good work, and keep teaching your dad….... He’ll catch on one of these days.

I like your jig better than the pusher-block sort. Nice work. I’m gonna steal that idea this afternoon.

-- Made lots of sawdust and pounded some nails. Haven't finished anything, though.
