I just read on MSN.com they have a new surgecal operation they can do with a laser that can fix a whole smattering of back ailments, herniated discs, ruptured discs, degerative disc disease, and much more, if you have back pain as many of us do, it will be a Godsend. I just sent this news to Mark Oscorner as it included the neck. What terrific news, out- patient surgery yet. Wow! wow. My new avatar is my wife and I, 35 yrs ago leaving the church heading for the reception, which was quite large they tell me and we had much fun I’m told. He wrote(mark) and told me personnaly what your prayers and gifts(small talk and well wishing) giving meant to him. You see a prayer or a kind word is a special gift to someone like my buddy Mark, and that is partly why he is my friend. I can’t put into words that kind of friendship, I don’t take friendship lightly, my dad always told me your true friends you can count on one hand and not use all your fingers, the older I’ve gotten the more I’ve come to believe those words. Thanks to all you guys for helping Mark out, you don’t know what it means to him, and me. God Bless All of you. mike

wonderful photo :)
my friend, who has been working around back surgery for a few years, has been told that the time has come. They will make a tiny slit in her back, do whatever it is that they do and in just a few weeks she will be going about her business almost at full speed ahead.
I hope things work out smoothly and quickly for Mark – whatever route the medical side of things takes.

Thanks for posting this Mike – I’ll be checking out that website. I’ve been putting off back surgery for a long time and it’s getting to the point where I can’t put it off much longer. This is something to talk to my doctor about. Always good to have these forums to point us to new alternatives.
I hope your friend Mark continues to improve.

Mike thanks for the post on the new medical procedure. I hope that Mark continues to improve and is able to get back to full strength soon. Mark only lives about 80 miles from me, I think that I will send him a pm and try to get together with him the next time I’m visiting my son in Baton Rouge.
I enjoyed the trip down memory road Mike. My wife and I will celebrate our 40th Anniversary on Jan. 6, 2008. Seeing your picture made me realize that it seems like only yesterday that I was in a similar picture – man where does the years go :-)). You guys look very happy.

I like the new avatar Mike….your wife is much cuter than you….:)
Interesting news. I’ll have to look into it. I ruptured the disc in my c5 10 years ago. I was fortunate that once the swelling went down ( a month sitting in a chair) most everything went back to normal. I had lost most of the use of my left arm and horrible pain from my neck to the tips of my fingers. I had a good doctor that suggested I wait and see what happen instead of surgery. Lately though it has been acting up and I’ve been thinking about seeing the doctor.

Thanks for the information, Mike! ;^) I like your new photo, too!
Bob, what kind of problems are you experiencing, now? My pain hasn’t reached my fingers, but the shoulder blade to the forearm gets my attention something awful without pain medicine. My doctor has me driving 46 miles one way to work and it isn’t fun. I’m glad that I can still work at my job, but my woodworking is on hold. I tried using my orbital sander for a couple of minutes the other day and boy did I regret it! I’m ready to get this thing fixed and to get back to life as it was just three weeks ago. :^(
