I still don’t have a lathe. My Delta got a new inverter or whatever it was. It cost me 2 big ones. But that was’nt the problem. The only other thing it could be is the motor. So I’m taking that in to see if there is one left in the US I might find. Also I am watching the veneering videos by Dave to learn something new. That and my computer took a dump on me for about 3 days last week. I finally called MSN and got back online. So I missed a little bit about the gang giving out of pocket to keep this site going, which I think I brought up a while ago. What a great idea. Where else coulld you get such knowledge, entertainment, and find such great people then here on LJs. The veneering videos by Dave are excellent for anyone who has not looked at them. I was finally able to download sketchup after deleting a bunch of games from my hard drive. Now to learn how to use it. I’ve used Alibre before so it isn’t mush different. Pretty cool. Thanks to all of you for being you and thanks Martin for bringing us together. mike

Glad to hear you are up and running again Mike – at least computer wise. Good luck with the lathe.

Dan you grand-daughter is beautiful, must take after your wife :-)). I’ve got 3 grand-daughters and they are such a delight to be around.

Feared for your health, Mike. Glad you’re back and that your announcement was about a sick lathe. Well, not glad your spinner is down, but you know what I mean.

Mike can’t you have your motor rebuilt? I know there are places that do that, used to live close to one. My 2 cents.

Thanks all and yes I’m looking for a place to rebuild it. When I get the sheckles. Right now I’m trying to hook up a wood burner in the old shop to keep warm this winter. just got done insulating. Thought I had a deal going with a sawyer near here, he was going to pick up my wood and cut it into boards for half the lumber, then he told me he wanted 50 dollars an hour to pick it up. I told him to shove it. I’ll cut it into pieces and turn it first. Or burn it. I’ve got maple, red oak, white oak, and walnut, and lots of it, I’ve collected from the city all summer. mike
Nice picture Dan, I’ve got a sweety like that but she’s almost grown up, she’s 13 now, she’s still grampas girl though.
