Hi - welcome to my profile.
I'm a lady woodworker who's just starting out. I like working with hand tools, particularly hand planes. They give me the level of precision I'm looking for, a slow way of sneeking up on a joint and lots of pleasure that I don't find with most machines. Though I do so love my PM2000 cabinet saw and my big mother of a Triton router in its table. (Don't ever mention hand held routers! - I hate 'em.) Oh, and I really enjoy using my bandsaw, too. Hate sanding.
I currently make smaller pieces - boxes, step stools, small cabinets, etc. I aspire to full on cabinetmaking - but have a long way to go. But as they say, the joy is in the journey ...
I'm looking foward to learning more from the members of this forum and hopefully I can contribute something occasionally too.
Have I said how much I like the LJ site? It's great - I love the way it combines blogs with the forum style - s'wonderful.

I think there is a real strong sense of community here. Hopefully we will see some of your projects before long. Try the shuffle feature at the top of the page to look at some of the older content. You can quickly scan through projects.
