First Project for 2008

Here is my first project for 2008…It is a kitchen secretary. At least I call it a secretary. The desk is going to be separate from the main cabinet, but I saw one similar in a photo and liked it. We needed a small space to do things (pay bills/write grocery lists/do taxes/etc.) so I decided this would be a very useful project. It consists of two pieces…First an upper cabinet with glass doors that has a lower portion with “cubbies” for sorting mail/papers. Second a small desk slightly wider than the cabinet underneath. Both will be made from oak/oak ply and attached to the wall. I have been working on this for a few days already, so I’m just going to post what pics I have so far and then keep the series going from there. —Jack

Cubbies

Nice project. Thanks for sharing. Just seeing other projects in the works get the sawdust flowing in my veins. Seeing other works is an inspiration to us all and creates an incentive to get in the shop and MAKE SOME DUST!!!!.

Keep us posted on the progress.
